Using Hem Facing to Repair Worn Spot

Hello all,

I have been asked to repair a pair of men's pants that have a small worn spot on the back. It is not a rip or tear, just worn through so part of the weave is missing. I am thinking of taking a piece of material from the large hem facing to make a patch and mend using a bonding agent; however, I'm not sure what to do with the hem now that it has this gaping change in levels where I have "stolen" material for the patch. Do I just have a jagged blind hem that drops at that section? Any tips would be most appreciated.
