Oops! Wrong board .

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has joined or thinking of joining Threads Insiders? It's not too expensive at $$32.95 per year. I just wonder how much of the previous info you got for free before will now have to be paid for (like Burda Style)
Thanks, Estelle

I was thinking the same thing. And, do I really need another 'insider' take on couture techniques - I certainly don't need a teach me how to sew - that's not worth an insider subscription. How different will 'insider" be from the monthly magazine and is it worth it? I feel if someone subscribes, they should automatically be an insider. I went back to check out insider more in depth and there is a 14 day free trial - if you're already on the email list all you need to do is sign into the website. But, you never got to the instructions for either the print, and the videos were short - Claire Shaeffer's video was a 2minute promo, the others were 5-6 minute video tastings - you never get to the other videos in the series because a pop-up window to subscribe to Insider keeps popping up - you only got to view the first video. Not a real trial - at least give us 2-3 full videos so we can really see how it works.

There is a thread already started.
Lots of different opinions about it.
I joined and think it was worth the $12.95 after watching Louise Cuttings and Clair Shaeffers videos.
There are a lot of videos on fitting and sewing how-to's.

My computer is not in my sewing room. Does anyone know how to download the videos so I can watch them when I want to sew?

A few months ago I sent an email to Threads about their Insider asking who was eligible for sales and also for competitions. This is my edited version of their reply, and I hope I have not misrepresented what they said:
In explaining the discounting or sales on products and who is eligible to participate, they said that for most sales all customers are allowed to participate in the discounting that they offer. For international customers the one offer that is rarely extended is free shipping.
Regarding contests and drawings, they do not open them up to the entire international community. To do this they would need to follow the rules that govern contests within each country, which would be complicated. They said that perhaps some day they could run a contest exclusively for Australian customers.
They also said that the cost to a subscriber is US$12.95 for a one-year membership.
