I will be in Lexington, Kentucky for a workshop Tuesday through Saturday, May 19. Are there any good fabric stores in the area? I decided to drive so I can run around and not worry about shipping my fabric back to NC.

We have Joann's and Hancocks. There are also a few home dec fabric stores but I haven't visited them.

As for garment fabrics, we are woefully lacking. But, there are two nice quilt shops. Sew-A-Lot has some lovely fabrics and is located in Hamburg shopping area, right off of US75. Quilter's Square is located on Moore Dr., which is off of Nicholasville Rd. If you're into sewing for the home, can drive an hour out of town, and have plenty of time to shop after you catch your breath, there's an incredible fabric store in Shelbyville. I'm talking nirvana. Most fabric is about $15.00 a yard. It's located in an old house with room after room of flats and bolts of home dec fabric. Did I mention the entire room of trim?
