Date: 5/15/12 10:52 AM I want to make some small tool 6x8 zipper top bags for work. Very new at machine sewing about 3 months. Ideas for needle and thread and any thing would be great. I have the se400. Maybe embroided my name on the bag. Hard to lose the bag that way. Thanks

Date: 5/15/12 11:23 AM Welcome and good luck!!
Duck cloth sounds like it would be good for this project - But you will want to use a heavier needle -- They make them for Jeans/Upholstery and too many others.
When I'm doing pillows in home dec, I put in the Jeans needles. Hope someone more expert comes along with more ideas -- You probably want to put your name on the cloth before sewing using a different type needle? Or on a square of fabric you can add that is the weight you can use your fancy embroidery on :-)
Edited -- here is a great overview on Needles - Hope this helps :-)

Date: 5/15/12 10:35 PM Thanks for the advice. Starting out with a new machine can be tough till you figure it all out. I am going to use c&c dual duty thread to sew the sides. The installation of the zipper I have not figure it out yet. IDEAS?

Subject: using duck cloth Date: 5/17/12 10:23 PM I just finished my first project. Made a top zipper tool pouch 7 inches by 10 inches. I embroidered my name and what's inside. Wonder if I could sell a few at work. I love my brother se400. |
