duck cloth tricks for sewing duck cloth

Very new at machine sewing about 3 months. Ideas for needle and thread and any thing would be great. I have the se400. Maybe embroided my name on the bag. Hard to lose the bag that way. Duck cloth sounds like it would be good for this project - But you will want to use a heavier needle -- They make them for Jeans/Upholstery and too many others. When I'm doing pillows in home dec, I put in the Jeans needles. Hope someone more expert comes along with more ideas -- You probably want to put your name on the cloth before sewing using a different type needle? Starting out with a new machine can be tough till you figure it all out. I am going to use c&c dual duty thread to sew the sides. The installation of the zipper I have not figure it out yet. IDEAS?

Made a top zipper tool pouch 7 inches by 10 inches. I embroidered my name and what's inside. Wonder if I could sell a few at work. I love my brother se400.
