I seem to have a problem and it could be getting worse or I am noticing it more.

My problem is this. I put a load of laundry in the washer, add detergent, set it and push start. When it is done, I take it out of the washer and put in the dryer. I then fill the washer up again for another load, with detergent and start it. Then I leave the room and close the door. When the washer is done, I open the door to the dryer and find *again* I did not start the dryer.

I am doing this at least once a month and some times once a week. I don't often forget to start the washer, just the dryer.

Does anyone else have this kind of problem? I feel so silly about it, but it happens so often anymore.

I thought a fun topic was needed today.

Are you kidding?! I forgot to close the freezer on the frig this morning after getting my hubby his ice pack (he had knee surgery) - then we were in the living room and watched an hour of TV - then I went into the kitchen, and the freezer drawer was open. Sigh.

And yes, you will forget a lot of stuff. It's not old age it is that women have varied lives, and what they do encompasses so many tasks that sometimes things get waylaid in another sector of the brain....hahaha...I had a doctor tell me this when I went in asking about my memory when I was about 40. He said, wife, mother, school aid, volunteer this and that, job, pets care, appointments, etc., ets., you may have all or several of those, and all supposed to be done NOW and correctly - it ain't gonna happen! SO - LTS - you are O.K.!

At least you get the laundry to the laundry room and washed

But maybe that's the problem, laundry is distracting you from sewing and PR.

I've forgotten to start the dryer. Maybe put a sticky note on the washer that says "Start the Dryer!".

The only problem with this is I might not got out to the garage the entire day (or worse when doing laundry at bedtime... ), so I might not see the note until the next day.

I think it may be one of those "The Hurrier I Go, The Behinder I Get" situations.

Put a note on the outside of the washer lid/door to start the dryer.

Then another note on the door to the laundry room to read the note on the washer.

One trick is to put a colored rubber band or hair elastic on your wrist to remember something like this, of course that's if you don't have 17 tasks in your head to remember....and wonder which it meant!

I still post notes on fridge or mirrors, place you'll be thruout the day.

What about filling the machine but not remembering to put in the detergent. How many times have I come back to the laundry to empty the washing machine and see the little detergent container winking at me?

Maybe it isn't you. Maybe it is the dryer.

The door on my dryer doesn't fit well and sometimes the wet, heavy clothes will hit the door hard enough to disengage the switch. I also thought I was forgetting to turn the dryer on until one day I actually saw it stop just a few minutes after I turned it on. I repositioned the clothes and set it back to work.

That's my story, anyway, and I am stickin' to it.

Is this about forgetting things? Because, yes, I often forget That kind of thing, a bit of a routine task, or if I actually did any of it or not; but this one has me worried. I've been away for two weeks. When I got back there was an envelope waiting for me, with a pattern inside. I can't remember ordering it, not at all. I'm sure I didn't order anything just before I left.
