Hi all,

I just got this machine for mother's day & I'm not even sure what to do with it. I'm super excited about it, but what do you all suggest for a first project or two?

thanks, M

The first thing would be to learn how to operate the machine. New or seasoned, we all have to take baby steps in the beginning.

Gather scraps of fabric or an old shirt, machine embroidery thread, machine embroidery bobbin thread and stabilizer.

Sit down in front of the machine with the manual. Open and begin to read. Apply each step of every feature of the machine.

This does not take very long and you will soon be knowledgeable in using an embroidery machine.

Click this site for many techniques and tips from selecting stabilizer to embroidering difficult fabrics.

I like to embroider the edges of my sheets and pillow cases; mirror imaging so they dance along the edges. That way if there's a mistake, no one will notice but me and I still get my "I did that!" kudo.
