The Flood after the draught highs and lows of fashion

The patterns and fabrics offerings are just not appealing to me, or not fit for what I can wear, or something. Then "POP" all of the sudden I just don't have enough $$ to get all that I see that I want. This spring is one of those pop times for me. (Which has been sneaking up on me for a couple of years now). But there are just too many wonderful patterns and fantastic fabrics to be able to get them all. I am so glad that the fashion is steering away from blouses and shirts that were just too too close fitting for me, and now thankfully the ones that are very very loose have been given some great styling, and are not just bags. But, my poor pocketbook, not to mention the very real disappointment, when I realize that I just cannot get all the wonderful prints that are now available.

I haven't bought any clothes for years because I didn't like the styles and now I'm loving them. For me anyway I think shows like Fashion Star have jump started the design ideas. I think we are living in an age where everything goes...there is no real current "fashion" to be stuck to. This probably reflects the cost of producing such a fine product, and I'm betting that the availability of these knits once again reflects an improving economy.

The other one is finding a pattern I adore and then wanting to make zillions of items from it using different colours/fabrics...

Things are even worse here in Australia, presumably because of our distance from the rest of you and much smaller population. None of my local stores have any floral prints in decent quality fabrics - none. We can buy good quality stripes at certain select stores, but florals are so nice for a change.
