Most of the tables I see that would work for cutting are at least 20#. Has anyone tried using an aluminum folding camp table? I would put my gridboard on top then the cutting mat. I think it might work.

I used a coleman table for years because it folded up and I had no space. I used to set it on top of my fabric bins to make it higher.

I actually use my dining room table (about 3x5) with a mat from Joann's that's about the same size. I place it on bed risers to raise it about 3 in. higher. It works like a charm. For smaller projects I use a plastic take apart table with a mat about the same size, also on the risers.
