Date: 5/19/12 4:27 PM but what are some other great reasons to join(other then supporting the web site of coarse!) Can the 10% off at JoAnn be used with the coupons they send out? ------ I'm fairly new to sewing but I am finding it to be fun and rewarding! |

Date: 5/19/12 5:48 PM The 10% JoAnn VIP discount card cannot be combined with coupons but can be apply to their sale prices, which you cannot do with the store coupon.
The card cannot be used when purchasing remnants, patterns and gift cards or for previous purchases. Nothing else is listed as an exclusion.
There are benefits at PR that may be of interest to you, but not for me personally.
In fact, I am feeling the same about JA. It is not worth paying a membership fee to get the discount card when I am not matching said fee with savings.

Date: 5/19/12 7:17 PM If you want to support the website and have all the features available, you have to join.
Maybe you want to participate in some contests? Post classifieds?
No one can tell you if purchasing a membership is right for you... you'll just have to see if the price measures up to the possible benefits.
Personally I didn't sign up at first, but as I got more into the board, I realized that I wanted the additional features that being a paid member bought me, so that's when I paid.

As for me, I like the classifieds and a few other things. The 10% discount at Joann's comes in handy once in a while, and I'm glad I have it. The pattern catalog is nice, too. And the Deal Corner is good; I've found some nice deals there. -- Edited on 5/19/12 8:05 PM -- ------ "We don't impose our rhythm on Nature. The key is to respect and live within Her." Yes, this is the main reason I am a paying member other than to support the site. I would have so many duplicates if it wasn't for the pattern catalogue!
I'm not aware of whatever the other benefits are. I assume that I glossed over them because they are of no benefit to me in New Zealand. I am not travelling halfway across the world to shop somewhere that gives me a 10% discount |

Date: 5/19/12 10:09 PM Like Lareine (also in New Zealand), the Joann's discount is of no use to me, but I have found the discount on patterns purchased through PR worthwhile.
I am unable to buy Jalie patterns locally, and it actually is more cost effective for me to buy them from PR than from the company itself.
I will also add another vote for the usefulness of the pattern catalogue and wishlist, and I get a lot of benefit from the knowledgebase too. ------ Wendy

Date: 5/20/12 0:55 AM I feel the .082 cents a day spent for PR is more than worth the value of what is offered to full members. There's nothing else I can think of off hand than only costs .082 a day that I enjoy so much! =0) ------ Happy Seams to you....until we meet again!

Date: 5/20/12 1:43 AM Can one of you please tell me how to catalog my patterns? I would love that feature since I have hundreds of the darn things (even after a recent cull)! Thanks.
Never mind - I found it. Had no idea this was possible. -- Edited on 5/20/12 1:45 AM -- |

You don't have to be a paying member to participate in contests.
