Is there a way to make your own laminated cotton or a raincoat or bag or do you have to buy it specially made that way?

My local fabric store just got in several large rolls of pre-laminated cottons to use for raincoats, aprons, totes, placemats etc.

A few years back I did make my own using this product:
LAMINATE

I made some small zippered travel totes and they turned out quite well. The laminate has held up to many trips, hasn't pulled away from the fabric.

I have used the iron on vinyl for golf club covers, and they held up great. The nice thing about the iron on is that you can choose any fabric you want to make it rain wear.
