In my mystery bundle they sent me a pretty teal colored knit with a thin black stripe. The stripes run horizontally and I don't do horizontal stripes anywhere on this bod! It stretches alot on the lengthwise and does have some stretch on the crosswise grain so I think I can run the stripes vertically. I want to sew a short sleeve knit top and some knit black pants. I'm searching through all my knit top patterns and all I have is tops with little raglan sleeves. Is it possible to match up the stripes on this style of top? Can anyone suggest a cute knit top?

Kwik Sew 3036 is super easy for stripes. With cowl or scoop neck.

If the stripes are thin, running them horizontally won't add width to your figure. In fact, knit tops with thin horizontal stripes are very "in" right now. I'd just pick a simple scoop or boatneck t-shirt pattern for the fabric that you're describing.

I was just going to add that KS 3036 also has a pattern for diagonal stripes.

I made Simplicity 2181 with a stripe. I think it came out pretty interesting.

I like silhouette pattern yoga pants for a simple yet versatile pair of knit pants. My pattern review

I just bought this: Vogue 8792
you could use the short sleeve version or make the long sleeves as short as you wished.
