Lining children's clothing

What is the best sewing/embroidery/quilting machine and what is the best cotton fabric for lining children's clothing? Thanks so!

As to your other question, what exactly is being lined, and what pattern are you using?

If you are using cotton, use cotton batiste. Be sure that you wash it a few times to get out any shrinkage. If you are making a girl's dress, you can eliminate the neck facing by using a lining in the bodice. Also, lining the skirt makes a nice invisible hem because you catch your stitches in the lining.

We used the same fabric for the lining as the regular fabric. I believe it was sleeveless. If it was open down the center front or back, it was sewed and then pulled through the shoulders. Very sweet and practical
