Hello I have been sewing for some time now and just recently been doing some machine embroidery i have a brother se400 and my questions are do you have to use the same color of thread for the bobbin each time? I am wanting to do some of my own designs but never done this may sound crazy lol but is digitizing making own designs? and what would be a good software to try thanks in advance for the help

the reason usually white thread is used as there is a special weight used in the bobbin. Most machines are set up for this. It's very thin. Also cheaper then regular embroidery thread. The only time you would usually use regular embroidery thread is when do lace or bookmarks etc.

Digitizing does have a pretty big learning curve and time consuming. You can get some 1 click type software but your designs will be rather simple. Software can range anywhere from a few hundreds dollars to Thousands. A good place to start would be Embird. Buzztools if you want a one click type, I believe that one is around $300. By one click I mean you have a digital picture and you convert it to a embroidery file in one click. But again have to use one layered simple designs. Might want to investigate all the designs available out there before deciding to learn to digitize.
