Ok, sewing blitz going on because the wedding I'm attending is this Saturday and I'm also sewing for my mother.

I'm making Burda 03-2011-108 or 109 [links to be added later]

The bodice is 2cm below the waist and the skirt is a gathered bubble skirt.

Burda says 53 cm length for the fashion fabric skirt and 48 cm for the skirt lining. Both are gathered. Finished length would also be 53 so I assume I must add seam allowances.

I'm not sure I understand this math. My skirt length is 48 cm from the waist.

How long must I cut the FF skirt and the lining?

Hi :)

If Burda doesn't say explicitly : "seam allowances included" in the dimensions (for non-patterned pieces such as rectangles, bias strips etc), you must add allowances.

The skirt lining will give the final length : the additionnal 5cm of the fashion fabric will be used to make the skirt "balloon" when attached to the lining.

I recently made a bubble dress for my daughter. I not sure how much 5cm is, but I think the lining hem needs to be a good inch shorter than the fashion fabric to get a good bubble and to avoid the lining showing at the hem. If the fashion fabric has lots of body, the lining might need to be even shorter if you don't want it to show at the hem of the bubble. HTH.

Thank you both, Rose and Meleliza.

I'm cutting out the skirt tonight, busy week in my professional life, just my luck!

Anyway, I will let you know how it goes.
