Date: 5/29/12 6:19 PM I have had this pattern for a couple of years. I did read the reviews but they are not up to date. Has anyone recently made this pocketbook insert? I am having a terrible time with the pattern pieces. There isn't a lay out and the instructions are a little confusing. I will try to figure it out, after all I have been sewing for over 50 years you would think I could figure things out by now. LOL......
I am new and of course would love to hear from you. New to posting that is. I do read reviews once in a while. Also I am not sure if this post is in the correct place.

Thanks for responding. I am not sure how to link but I will try. Also how I found it here is by doing a search in the pattern review section, on Studio Kat designs. #5, 9,11,6 reviews are good but are old. None actually spoke about how they did the layout for cutting.

Date: 5/29/12 10:07 PM Kathy, I had the same problem with the layout. The pattern should have included a simple diagram or some arrows on the pieces or something. I solved it by just pretending these were pockets on a shirt, so I put my imaginary 'shirt'--all the pieces that form the body of the insert--on the lengthwise grain, and then I cut all its pockets on the lengthwise grain, too, photocopying the many pieces so that I wouldn't have to reposition them a thousand times!
My review is pretty long and wordy, but maybe it will help. |

Date: 5/29/12 11:03 PM I don't have that particular pattern, but I have a few others from StudioKat. When I've emailed her, I've received quick response. I imagine she would be able to give you some advice, too. |

Date: 5/30/12 9:02 AM I'm working on the Baggalista and bought the kit. Only received 2 of the 5 zippers. I called her yesterday - answered and found my order and is mailing the additional zippers. Great customer service so I wouldn't hesitate to call. |

Date: 5/30/12 10:05 AM Hi
I did read your post but forgot to mention it in my post. It is #8C. I am so glad you took the time to expain how you did this. I too have written instructions with pictures of every step. These instructions even though I read them are still daunting. I did email and call the designer and she is sending me another set of pattern pieces. Hopefully this will help. I really like your idea of making copies of each piece so I do not have to use one for all the cuttings. Now you would think a designer would tell us that!

Thanks for your input. I did call the designer and she is sending out new pattern pieces. I really like this 'pocket' and hope to at least get one done. My friend made one and when she showed it to me I was sold. Now after looking at all the lovely ones the ladies here have made I am ready to give it a try!
Have a wonderful day!
