We did a take in alteration on a bias cut charmeuse prom dress, that the client wanted to be skin tight form fitting. We took in the side seams from the waist through the hip, and ended up with a bumpy/ wavy look to the seam. We finally in the end had to fuse interfacing strips to the seam to get it to lie sorta flat and smooth. Any tips to make this easier and more smooth next time? AND there will be a next time, I'm sure of it. Thanks.

I actually saw this as a tip somewhere recently - it was in one of my dress making books (can't remember which one) and the method was primarily employed to get the seam allowances to lay flat. It stuck in my head because I have a double knit skirt that I need to fuss with in order not to have the seam allowances bunch up or twist and add inches to my hips.
