I'm in the Northern Virginia area and I just started a sewing group. We just finish a class in drafting a pants pattern at G Street Fabrics and wanted to continue to sew up our pants that we drafted. Has anyone taken the class? Anyone interested to join us? PM me if you do.

Northern Virginia has a large ASG (American Sewing Guild) chapter of probably 300-plus members. You can post your message with their Yahoo group if you are a member or leave a message through their Website for forwarding (http://www.asgnova.org/ASG_NoVA/Welcome.html) if you aren't. Also, a listing of their 13 neighborhood groups is on the Website along with contact info if you see a group close to you. You can attend a neighborhood group meeting one time without being an ASG member to see if you are interested in joining. They have a sewing retreat coming up in August in Leesburg that you might be interested in attending.

I haven't taken the pattern drafting class at G Street, but I have experience drafting and sewing pants. I'll send you a PM.

Thanks Paula. I am a member of the ASG. I have not joined any of their meetings though. They are picky about what you can post in their Yahoo group at least my chapter is.

I would take a class with you at G-stree, but my schedule won't clear up until Sept. Also, I didn't know about the guild, so I am grateful someone posted about it too...

I just finished the pants drafting class at G Street. I may take more drafting classes in the future. If you are interested in taking the pants drafting class, you should consider it. It's nice to finally sew up a pair of pants that fits. PM me if you are interested in joining our sewing group. We will be sewing up the pants we drafted.

I'm moving back to the No. Va. area in April, and I'm thinking of offering sewing lessons if anyone is interested. I'll probably be setting up a studio in my home.

I've taken a lot of classes at G Street, and most have been pretty good. The teachers as a rule are quite skilled, and one or two even have degrees in fashion, or have certificates from well-known instructors. I've taken many, many classes over the years and taught for almost a year at a private sewing school in Mass. I really enjoy teaching, so if anyone in the area wants to talk about lessons, please pem me. I can accommodate most schedules. Denise.

I took Annette's pants-drafting class last Fall. Unfortunately, she had to cancel the third (of three) classes because of a death in the family. I really need to return to my muslin. Assuming it's a metro-accessible location and works with my schedule, I would like to join.
