Date: 6/3/12 5:52 PM Has anyone made Koos new Vogue 1301? I have questions concerning the lining? What did you make it from? Is it as full as the outside fabric layer? Can one use the "high neck/turtle neck" with the sleeves? Can you size down one size on this pattern?
Thanks for any information. I was planning on ordering some fabric, but it looks like it will take about 10 or so yards which includes the lining and I didn't want to add more fabric to my stash. ------ There is no easy way! quote from my Grandfather

Date: 6/3/12 10:19 PM Oh, I've been negotiating with myself over that pattern since it was released. I like the long sleeve v-neck version - a lot. I also like the designer.
Mountains of fabric and everything I like for it is expensive to start with.
I was thinking chiffon, and, staying with one, or, multiple prints. My mom had something with a similar feel in a creamy white micro pleated crepe like fabric. I'd date the dress around the mid-fifties. It was sleeveless with the cross v neck and a hood. I wore it on a special date with the hubbie when I was around thirty and felt spectacular wearing it. I think this Koos dress has a lot of potential.
Now you've done it. It's time for me to buy the pattern and prep the pieces so I can start studying it.

Date: 6/3/12 11:22 PM I really like it, I guess a mock up of some type is warranted........at least to work out the top portion for me. Hopefully someone has already made this up to help us. ------ There is no easy way! quote from my Grandfather

Date: 8/8/12 11:15 AM I just got* this pattern and would be willing to post my success/failure.
*It was sitting at my neighbours, mis-delivered by the postie.
The pattern instructions are skimpy, I hadn't really looked at pattern instructions in a while but "finish seam" as an instruction? I now understand some of the comments I've been seeing on the message boards from beginners.
Anyway, this is somewhat an easy pattern. It's a basic A-line tent and I hope it doesn't look like a tent, I envision a floaty chiffon/georgette thing with busy patterns that disguises my no-shape.
I am very intrigued by the sleeves and shoulder which is why I wanted to try this. Fabric isn't an issue, I've got boxes of chiffon stash from doing dancer skirts and since dancer skirts are not in fashion in the skating world these days, I thought this pattern would be a great stash buster.
The lining looks much less voluminous than the finished outer layer. What to make it with is going to be the question, it's got to be a somewhat opaque fabric. |

Date: 8/8/12 11:25 AM I haven't made it but a lightweight silk crepe de chine would do well, and not add bulk. ------ "A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.”
