Hi, It was released just a few days ago, so this may be premature. Wondering if you've got the original and love it? Or, if the new one is better. I held off on buying the original till the update publication. I want to investigate fitting pants, but don't want to add to my arsenal if the book is just so-so.

I've tried their tissue fit and had mixed results. For me it's a starting point. Probably it's like everything else, we find an approach we like and that works for us better than others.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to check it out. Hopefully, they have included some of the fitting issues which were not in the original version.

If you haven't bought the original, then if the new issue is in your budget, I would always go for the updated one. P/P is always learning & revising. Pati Palmer is very good about saying, if you already have an edition, whether the updates are major or not. Sometimes if an edition is sold out & going for reprinting, she will update even if it is not a major revision but rather some things they have learned & are now teaching in their Fit Classes.

Thanks so much for the link, GlButterfly. It's great that they let us know precisely what the changes are for the new edition.

I think that it is going to be very helpful. In the sections that I've scanned, there is a very clear explaination on how to get the excess out of the back legs (a problem for me), a nice section on jeans, including bias cut, and a section on men's . The section's that I've browsed show at least three sizes of real people..slender, medium(with muffin top) and a plus size. Very helpful!!

I downloaded the book onto my Kindle for PC from Amazon and the photos and diagrams are very clear...Plus I saved some money and don't need to remember where I left the book when I need it!

Jann, this is good info, thank you...I would be willing to buy this second edition, if it really came up with the fix for the back leg issues. I've tried what they suggest in volume one, but it just doesn't work for me.

I didn't find much in the first to help with my figure also. This looks pretty basic..I know I've heard it before, but the pictures are good and there is a diagram of where you are supposed to sew to deepen the crotch. Exactly where to pin in the back and side seams. And it is so helpful to see it done on real figures. Hips only..forget the rest. I applaud all the models who let their flat rears, muffin tops and no waist all be photo'd.

It's $10.99 on the Kindle for PC. That's free from Amazon and I do like it. Since it's the computer screen, it's larger than the regular Kindle. Pants for Real People

Thanks, jannw. Since the new edition is a Kindle computer option I think I'll order that to supplement the original paperback edition that I own.

I looked at the preview on amazon and--from the limited amount you are allowed to preview-- the fix appears to be the same as the first addition.

Have you tried Diane E's tip about getting rid of folds under the butt--here.
This really worked well for me.

This new edition really seems like a nice expansion--so much to know about fitting pants!
