Date: 6/7/12 7:49 PM The most generally available sheer linen I know of is 'handkerchief' linen, which is fairly see-through. You can get samples from this excellent vendor. Note that their lightest weight is about 3.5 ounces per square yard.
However, there is lighter stuff, sometimes called 'linen lawn,' that weighs in at 3 ounces or less per yard.
