Hey, PR, I am planning on sewing up Vogue 1170 and 1247, both suggest charmeuse or crepe de chine, which I love, but I don't want to use such fancy fabric, I would like the blouses to be more everyday. And clearly the key to making both patterns work well is to have a light, drapey fabric.
Any suggestions? (I was looking at some Eileen Fisher, since she seems to do this kind of thing very well, she has a lot of hemp/cotton/silk/linen and blends, but it seems hard to get your hands on fabric like hers).
Would certain types of cotton work, rayon?

Charmeuse and crepe are weaves, and can come in silk, poly, wool etc.
IMO, cottons will not be a suitable substitute, as they won't have the same drape.
I would go with a rayon/viscose, a lightweight crepe or a challis.
I heart Woo (HimmyCat). Until we meet again, my beautiful little boy. I love you.
