Date: 6/14/12 9:33 AM I'm making three kids raincoats: two of the modkids pattern, and one TBD for a boy. The pattern says it can be reversible but the idea of using laminate inside and doesnt appeal to me. Here's a link since my image isn't showing up
Modkids.
Anyway I would love any suggestions. I have no interest in lining it for warmth. I'm more concerned with sliding little arms in and out and durability. The last two purchased raincoats had shredded sleeves in a matter of weeks. I have a coupon for fabric.com burning a hole in my pocket...

Date: 6/14/12 11:11 AM I have fond memories of coats lined in fun fabrics..how about a poly charmeuse in a bright, bright print?? or a ctoon quilting cotton. I always loved when the lining was a wilder version of the fabric on the outside of the garment. ------ sarah in nyc

Date: 6/14/12 8:58 PM I'm afraid the quilting cotton wouldn't be slickery enough. I'd like to do something fun tho...
So what will hold up, not shred, and yet be slickery? ------ Too much fabric to count... |
