Date: 6/14/12 5:45 PM I currently sit on a lovely firm wooden chair. Apart from the fact I cant adjust the height (I have long legs) I am very conscious of the fact I have tendency to not have much back support as it is a standard dining chair type.
So, in the interests of making my sewing life more comfortable (and interject a bit of colour!) I am looking for a non black replacement. Goodbye all standard office chairs. Hello bright sparkly red one?
What do you all think of this model?
My sister who is a physio said it is good that its got lots of adjustable bits and pieces. I think it looks fun. I just wanted to avoid the standard office look as I sit on one of those all day for work! dont need to do that again when I get home.

The chair I use I swiped from my husband, who is a musician. It is called a "drum throne" and is made by a company called Roc n Soc.
It is the most comfortable chair I have ever used, more comfortable than my fancy office chair with all the adjustable bits and pieces.
It has adjustable height, and adjustable back, and it spins, so it is easy to operate the knee control on my machine by just slightly turning the seat of the chair. ------

Date: 6/14/12 7:23 PM That's a pretty chair! I have an office chair I got at a thrift store and I love it. I really, really love having arms on my sewing chair....except when I really, really hate it.  If they are removable, you could try it both ways and see what works for you. ------

Date: 6/14/12 7:42 PM I have arms on my chair and they don't bother me... but everyone is different. If you dont' currently have arms on your chair, you will need to try it out before buying, but other than that, it looks nice & snazzy! ------

 1 member likes this. For what it's worth, I was using a nicely structure, padded office chair until I bought one of these. I had to get my old, hard-plastic, roll around chair out of storage because the stability cushion didn't work well on padding. Worth it, though, because the cushion is helping my neck/shoulders! ------

Date: 6/16/12 8:24 AM I have a bright red Bernina sewing chair which would definitely add a bit of color to your sewing room. It is adjustable in three different ways and is super comfortable. ------

Date: 6/16/12 11:30 AM Does it recline so you can take a nap?? I like the head pad at the top. I'm an armless person at least when it comes to sewing, because the office chair has arms. I prefer my sewing chair not to, because once I pinched my finger really bad while trying to scoot up to my desk. ------

Date: 6/16/12 6:58 PM I have a black one that is similar. I like all of the adjustments and the arms. Most office chairs with arms have arms that can be removed, so if you are a no arm on the chair type, it shouldn't be an issue. Just check the instructions. The color is wonderful and mesh is so cool in the summer.
