I need one that looks nice, most likely short sleeves ... maybe a bowling shirt? I have a lovely pale blue/brown/beige narrow stripes linen. I'd love to make a shirt for my boyfriend to wear when we go swing dancing. It's often hot, or just gets warm with all the people, but he prefers to dress up a little because the place is gorgeous and historic. The dress varies quite widely though so anything would be acceptable at the place.

In any case, I thought if I used linen he would be a little cooler. He has an 18" neck and is a bigger guy, 6'. What size does that mean? I want this to be a surprise so I can't ask.

I really like the Islander shirt. Here's my review.

Good luck!

Wow, your hubby and my boyfriend have very similar shapes. I read your review - it looks really interesting! I will put the pattern on my order list - thank you!

So glad I could help!

Not sure if I mentioned it in my review but my DH is 6'2" and I've lengthened his shirts 2 inches.

I would think that would be a 1 XLG shirt. DH needs 19 inch neck & needs 2 XLG shirt made.
I have been using McCall's 2149 view E, view C. DH seems to really like that one. You will probably have to lengthen it a little bit as DH is 5' 7" & it is about right in length.
I just bought an islander pattern "sports shirt". I hope it turns out well.

Best Wishes !
