I am not sure if this is the right place to post my question. I having been searching for a jacket pattern (that I could alter) so I could make something that would have a similar appeal of the Burberry Tweed Country Jacket. That jacket has gently gathered shoulders and waist. It costs $2995 (!)

My apologies if I have posted this in the wrong location.

That's the country jacket posted by skae, but this one matches your description.

An intricate project like this jacket would require considerable time, effort and advanced pattern drafting skills. Your best strategy would be to break down the jacket into all of its component parts (stand collar, bust dart, peplum, back yolk, epaulettes, two piece vented sleeve) and build it back together from other patterns and/or by drafting it yourself. The voluminously gathered pocket, seems to have been influenced by the Japanese series of Pattern Magic books.

Yes, this jacket requires excellent tailoring skills and a beautiful fabric. I actually took a tailoring class decades ago....

While I could never replicate the jacket, I was hoping there might be a pattern with a similar silohette. I've searched without luck. Any pattern I have seen is typically classic lined center front or super casual, no lining.

I just thought of a good pattern for you to start with, Vogue 7764. Perhaps you've seen it: it has a stand collar, button front, hip pockets, fitted peplum waist, and epaulettes -- it's even been reviewed here on PR. This pattern is as close as you're likely to get.

Although the jacket doesn't have a lining, you shouldn't let that stop you because it's extremely easy to draft the lining of a jacket from the jacket pattern itself. The instructions for drafting a lining can be found in the Easy Guide to Sewing Jackets which you can buy for less than two dollars on amazon.com.

Good luck with your project. And please, please make at least one practice version out of less expensive fabric beforehand.
