Ads on blog I didn't put them there

At the bottom of the latest post was an advert, I didn't put it there. I went to home, and it had gone, so I wondered if I was dreaming. I went back to the latest post, and there was a different one there. What is this about? They're not advertisements for anything sewing related, and I didn't put them there (obviously). Is it because its a free account? ------ so many patterns, clamouring to be sewn http://patternpandemonium.wordpress.com/

It is made clear in the terms and conditions. As far as I am aware only if you are not logged in you see them, though they may have changed it. You can stop it by making the blog ad free. I wonder why I saw ads twice - two different ones, on the same post, and you didn't.
