What draws your interest at a Craft Fair? What kind of stuff are you interested in?

Or what has in the past? I like one of a kind things which are very hard to find. I also like kitchen things. I look for unique gifts. I also look it over pretty well to see if it is really handmade. I always visit the vendor that makes doggie biscuits. Anyone?

I like to go to a craft fair (actually called Craft Market) in Santa Monica in June and November. I have been attending this fair for years. Had to miss this last June, but I am plannning on getting there in November - What do I like about it? Its vendors are truly craftsman (and women) it isn't 'homemade' items (although I suspect that they all have a home studio) but truly high end one of a kind jewelry, clothing and home furnishings. I have bought some unique gifts for family but usually just go (and buy) for myself. Also it is in Santa Monica, which is a beautiful city to visit, too. ------ Kemish

I like the hankies, the vintage notions that seem to pop up on them, tablecloths and kids' clothes, long before I had little kids. Now...I don't buy this stuff. But I will say that the walker bags have a need that needs to be filled.

Clothing accessories, of course: hats, wallets, bags, gloves. But also stuff I'd use in the kitchen or elsewhere in the house. But the rare time I go to a craft fair, I usually just go and see a lot of stuff that I could make myself. I take that back - I went to one with a friend last summer and picked up some nice hand made pewter ornaments. Metal work just a tad outside my ambit. But we walked past a lot of very nice paper crafts that I just felt would be so easy to replicate on my own that I couldn't justify the cost. Special jams, pickles, preserves etc, that I only need one or two jars of and do not have time to make myself. Things like hot pepper jelly or boozie fruit. I did go to two quilt shows this year and at one I bought a purse for all of $10.00, I could not buy the material and beads for that, plus a hen pin cushion and another small item. I sure hope that happens. The items will probably be used as gifts though (not to sell). I always wondered how profitable it would be to sell at fairs. Has anyone tried that before? What were the sellers? Thanks.
