Hi, I have made up 2 muslins so far using the Jalie T shirt pattern. I'm looking for a simple round neck 3/4 sleeve t shirt without darts as my TNT. I have a DD bust. I also alter for a wide waist and a round back.

When i made the first muslin I did Debbie Cooks cheater FBA as I always need an FBA anyway and I hadn't tried this way before. I had drag lines from hip to bust plus wings/darts formed in the armhole where the dart would normally be sewn.

I made muslin number 2 leaving the cheater FBA in place and then doing a normal FBA of about 3/4 inch. Only a guess at the amount as it's hard to accurately tissue fit for a knit. With the second muslin, a slightly heavier fabric, I have exactly the same problem possibly to a lesser degree I think.

Would I make my FBA, bigger in the next muslin? Also I think the draglines usually mean that there's not a wide enough dart taken up at the bust? I'm confused, will the draglines go if I get the FBA right? The rest of the T Shirt is a really good fit.

Thanks
Sue

Not sure if this is helpful or not, but I recently tried this tutorial with success.

The poster figured out how to do a dartless FBA in the Renfrew t-shirt, which I'm guessing is not dis-similar from the Jalie one. She was sizing up for a G bust.

Thanks for the link wenznz, it's very interesting, a bit different from my usual way of doing an FBA.
