Date: 6/25/12 1:13 PM I am desperate to make McCalls 6604

but I live in the UK.
I phoned the Vogue UK and apparently, they will not be available until 15th July
I didn't buy in that little gap when BMV are on sale just after the new designs arrive because I am trying no to buy patterns until I want to make them.
The long sleeved cowl style made with shorter sleeves is exactly what I need for work. I teach small groups of children, sitting at the same table as myself. I find that many tops which I thought would be OK, when I lean into the table cause a glimpse of cleavage - although only a small amount it is not appropriate in school.
Term will be nearly over by the time the patterns arrive in the UK. I guess I will have to order from BMV but it hurts now that they are lots dearer plus the shipping.
Excuse the rant, I needed to get it off my chest and I knew you would understand. -- Edited on 6/25/12 1:16 PM -- ------ Clare

Date: 6/26/12 9:58 AM I'm with you all the way!
Being too meant to pay shipping, my ' sort of sideways revenge' is to have a Web Only membership of Sewdirect.com. So when they are finally available in the UK I get 50% discount.

Good luck with your two lovely new patterns. |

Date: 6/26/12 12:56 PM My mom recently bought a Vogue pattern in the States for me and shipped it to me in the UK. It cost her $2.97. How BMV justify charging $15 to ship the same pattern to the UK is beyond me, but I vote with my feet and my sewing machine. ------ www.fehrtrade.com |

Date: 6/26/12 2:48 PM I usually vote with my feet and only buy from BMV when the patterns are about $3 each. Even then, I sometimes find it can work out little different from with SewDirect.
It is just that I have a sewing window (after finishing 14 dance costumes and before extra end of term work) and want to make up that pattern next week. Here's hoping for the usual prompt delivery.

Date: 6/28/12 6:44 AM I don't believe it. I have just had an email from Sew Direct saying the patterns are now available.
Rats, I should have waited, if I had ordered from SewDirect today it would arrive tomorrow.
