I am loving the Maxi trend. I got this awesome cotton ombre print from Elliot Berman Textiles which would make a killer maxi dress. I dont want to break the print so I want to make something long. Does anyone have any suggestions on patterns?

You could try Mcalls 6346

Version D doesn't have a waist seam, you could also omit the bottom frill.

I look forward to seeing what else people come up with because i love a woven maxi. I had loads in my slimmer days, just long sheath dress with a side or back slit.

Burda 7664 is a good example

Wow, both of those are good suggestions. I might have to try one of them. McCalls maxi has lots of reviews but I know that Burda fits me, so maybe I should make the Burda one.

MCall's 6346 is adorable but looks a little skimpy on the model. I'm very tempted to give it a try as I think the dress has a very flattering line. That style is super easy to fit, too. Thanks for posting.

I agree the M6346 looks skimpy, I think it will look better without the frill on the maxi length. I think more fabric will need to be added to the skirt width to look like the blue drawing.

Simplicity 3803 -- haven't made this one yet but it's in the queue (actually close to the top) for after the wedding. I have a beautiful piece of white cotton with red embroidery that I picked up at Vogue in Chicago that is destined for this dress -- already have the piece picked out for the muslin so I'm ready to go once I'm back on the 9th.

I have already cut out this one B5764.

Of course I plan to make it all one length.
