This is the second contest in a row that I have tried to enter where the contest was closed early. In the One Yard contest, I did not join early and was not allowed to join or enter an item even though it was before the official closing time.

Tonight I finished my last item and created a WIP because I was going to attempt to do a collage in Picasa. I had entered the contest yesterday just to be on the safe side. I finished my garment at 9:30 PM and then spent the next 1-1/2 hours trying to figure out how to do the collage. Finally I somehow created it and then lost it in my picture files. After finding it I entered it as a thumbnail and as the contest photo with the idea that if I didn't get the individual pix entered, I could enter them as an edit later because the whole project was in the collage. When I tried to enter my entry, I was locked out. I went back to the page where the contests were listed and the OPML contest was listed under "past contest" even though it was not yet 11:59 PM. My review posted at 11:39 PM, 20 minutes before the deadline and I immediately tried to enter the review.

In the past, I have noted that many entries posted at 11:59, 12:00 and even a few minutes past midnight, so there is no reason to not be able to get in.

It is quite disappointing to go to all the work of making items for a contest, creating a review and collage and then not be able to participate because someone closed the contest before the deadline. I guess I should have stopped with my third item this afternoon, but the last one was the one that DGD requested and I improved on the pattern directions and wanted to include that information.

Although I can't answer your question, it just seemed like you needed one!
I totally feel for you... that kind of things is so frustrating!

I'm sure the PTB around here will work with you so you can still enter! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Trust me, as a member of the contest committee it is frustrating to all of us. Computers can apparently be strange beings- please rest assured that it is not something that we are doing purposely!
I know that telling you that we will honour all reviews that were attempted to be posted or linked before the deadline is no consolation to you- especially at 11.59 pm. I will make sure that Deepika knows about it and hopefully thing can get worked out ASAP.
In the meanwhile, our sincere apologies for the hair pulling you must have endured.
