BurdaStyle 05-2012-107 Interesting takes on the colorblock wave dress

Date: 7/4/12 4:57 PM This is the dress pattern that won MarinaVK 1st Prize in the Natural Fiber Contest this year.. Beautiful interpretation (and execution!) However, it was also interesting to see how a group of French bloggers did a sewalong called Défi Burda #2 hosted by Marie @ Rose aux joues. (Apparently, FR bloggers prefer the concept of challenges to just sewalongs.) The list of participating bloggers is at the bottom of the post linked above. My favorite version is by Aurélie @ Made by Lilyprune. Her fabric choices always surprise and delight me. As she explains, the hem is a Liberty of London flower print remant that ties in the three solid colors of the garment. I really love this particular pattern, although I'm in doubt whether, at my size, it would be flattering.
