4 members like this. Date: 7/5/12 2:52 AM I posted a review last month about this dress but I have since finished decorating it. The photos do not do it justice though! This was my first attempt at appliques. I drew a pattern and created my own design(if it can be called that! LOL). Anyway, this is the end result. My daughter is skating to the Jurassic Park theme song... hence the green claw-like design. I modified a Kwik Sew pattern to create this dress. I added the 4 straps to the back, the applique and I changed the skirt out with another skirt from a different Kwik Sew pattern. I like the end result. This dress has a lot of bling on it! For the most part, I like how it turned out. I like that my daughter has a completely custom dress and that it seems to fit her music well. My out of pocket expense was far less then it would have been had I had someone else make this exact(or something similar!) dress for her. Here are pictures of the finished product.

Let me know what you think about my creation. :) -- Edited on 7/5/12 2:53 AM -- ------ I'm fairly new to sewing but I am finding it to be fun and rewarding! |

Date: 7/5/12 8:56 AM I used to sew my daughter's skating dresses "back in the day" so I know what it entails. You did an awesome job and the dress is BETTER than most of the dresses for sale! Your daughter will be proud. |

Date: 7/5/12 9:52 AM Love the dress! I work from the Kwik Sew actionwear book and I love how they basically encourage the idea of chopping patterns up and making custom designs.
Also love your flooring. I think it is the same as mine ------ http://bgballroom.wordpress.com to follow the progress on my next ballgown. |
