For those who have read my previous posts, you'll know I've been taking a year long course. The end of my sewing course is now in sight. I have a mingled sense of accomplishment, satisfaction and slight tiredness at getting through the last bits of the requirements before the assessment deadline.

I no longer feel like a novice, but have some way to go before I can have the confidence to casually alter patterns and know that it will work.

This course has helped me to push myself in to trying techniques I wouldn't have touched with a barge pole. After trying hand smocking, I dont think I will be going back there again any time soon. Still, the point is I've tried it.

So, for all those out there trying new things, or curious to see someone's sample book, here's a link to my blog page with some photos

I've got to take a few more photos, but this will do for tonight.

I think it's wonderful that you've had the opportunity to take that course. I've been enviously lurking as you've done it, reading your blog.

Aren't samples great? I'm sure you learned so many wonderful skills to take your sewing to the next level. Congrats on reaching the finish line soon with the course.

Congratulations-looking over your sample book will surely help you in the future as you use these techniques. I am so impressed that you did this and kept all the notes and made such a terrific sample book.
