I found this excellent fabric dictionary on line. fabric dictionary I have Claire Scaffer's book, which is excellent, but I think even the most recent printing was a few years ago. ------ quiltingwolf.blogspot.com

(Being both a word nerd and a wannabe textile nerd.) This source seems good at explaining when a name for something comes from its fiber, its weave (or other method of production), or its design/embellishment....there are other categories, I'm sure (use?).
