I just started this morning. I'm take the Quilting Quickly 1 & 2 classes over at Craftsy and learned about this block. This will be a Christmas gift for my MIL. I found this very easy to put together. So far, I am very pleased with it.

The fabric is the Moda Late Bloomers charm pack. I had to cut 3 more squares out of the border fabric so I could complete the 9 patch on three of them. I have it all laid out and ready to sew together. The border fabric will be the tan floral that is the last full square on the bottom left. The binding will be in the dark red in the small cornerstone at the bottom.

It's lovely. I realy should try this pattern soon. Put it on the list...

I like the touch of tourquise in places. It draws the eye to the color. I bet the red is more vibrant then the picture shows. Can you do a close up of one of the blocks?

The binding in red? I like that!

The charm pack has 40 5 inch squares. The lady sent one she cut (bought it online), not a factory cut one. The nine patch is 14 x 14 1/4" when assembled. Then you cut it in half both ways and end up with a 7 x 7.25 block.

Edited: Accidentally deleted these from my Flickr account. :(

Love this! The colors are so pretty.

I have made three of these now. Two were small for babies, and the last one is a twin for my daughter It is waiting for the my friend and long arm quilter to come home from vacation. I think the pattern is really fun.

That Moda fabric is gorgeous. Have you chosen the backing, and will you embroider name, date, etc. on it instead of using a label? I use the small built-in stitches to show the year and my personal logo.

Looking forward to seeing this quilt when completed.

Done! After it was hanging up I wished I would have put a red border around the blocks then the floral border. But, I won't have enough of the red for the binding so this is how it will stay. I have a couple more charm packs/fabrics in my stash and will make sure I have enough of the solid color for the first border and the binding.

I am hoping Monday to start to quilt it. I am not great at FMQ but thought I could do stippling or maybe a serpentine stitch all over it.I don't want to do SID. A couple of seams did not line perfectly but I left them since they weren't that off. My MIL won't know what FMQ is supposed to look like, so it will be good practice!

Usually I just use a muslin for the back. I never thought about signing it either. How convenient it would be if I did not have to order my quilt fabrics online! So I have to think ahead on when I buy something and get all the matching fabric at that time. I have some cream colored cotton I can put on the back. I don't want to have to order anything.
