When I bought my serger in 2002 I was told by the seller that I should use Schmetz home sewing machine needles. In 2012 I learned from another merchant that there are serger needles specific to each model. My manual does say use HAx1sp Cr needles 75/11 and 90/14 manufactured by Schmetz or Organ.

I've been googling all over the place. Klasse Type E, size 14 is the most common to find in local stores. I'm not sure if they are a good choice. Some websites sell Organ brand in lots of 5 to 100. One company offered a ball point version that doesn't exist anywhere else. Schmetz costs more but they might be worth it.

Any advice would be welcome.

I use Organ HaX needles I buy from my BL dealer. Does your local dealer carry them?

I use sewing machine needles. Some are Schmetz and some are Organ. Not real fond of Klasse.

Klasse, Organ and Schmetz sharps sewing machine needles are all equally good and can be used in your serger without any problems.

Thanks for the input everyone. Any thoughts on this purchase opportunity.

Did you check the Serger, Coverstitch category located a few lines above the Sewing Machine category? Last month Brigita had a thread about her Imagine, serger needles and eBay purchase. That category has a lot of serger information. Good luck.

The local dealer seems more interested in selling big ticket items than talking about needles.

I'm new to the sight and am just getting acquainted with the message board. I now know about the newbie section.

I did find the thread you are referring to. It confirms that some of us are easily confused by the subject.

As I understand things so far there are three needle systems we can use in the imagine that are recommended by BabyLock.

HAx1SP, SIZE 11 or 14

130/705H

These are the only needles I use in my Babylock Imagine Wave serger. Flat rate shipping is $3.83.
