It's been close to 100 for over a week now here.
My sewing room is upstairs where the hot air likes to cluster.
I'll work in the mornings before it gets really hot out, then stay downstairs where it is noticeably cooler for the rest of the day.
Yesterday I was working on the hems on a new pair of pants...in my underwear! I realized when I took off my capris to try on the new pants how much cooler it was without clothes!

Yup, yup, I'm with ya. 100 degrees in my house. I do have AC in my bedroom where the sewing machine is. But I trace and cut in the living room where it is absolutely stifling.

So all last week it was: cut and sweat, and then duck into the bedroom to stitch.

The cat thinks I'm nuts...

It's cool in the sewing room between being a basement room and the AC, but the heat saps my creative energy (being pregnant really, really doesn't help). I've come to realize that summer + me = blah.

The best project you could be working on is the one that's on the table right now.

I am pretty wimpy when it come to what I consider hot... 90 outside and I am whining. I work in a bakery, so by the time I get home I want to be COOL. For me sewing is the summer activity because quilting and crochet are too hot sitting in my lap.

I find that once the house starts to cool off around 9 I get a second wind and want to go, go, go. Drives my DH nuts when I get pumped just as he's ready to crash

Totally guilty of sewing in my undershorts, especially when I am fitting a new pattern!

It's been too hot to sew so I went window shopping. A Bernina coverlock and a Brother PQ1500 followed me home. Most times in the summer I sew in my 2pc swimsuit. A friend brought me a sweater to hem and I asked her when she planned on wearing it?

I was working on a baby quilt for my newest great niece, but she will have to wait a while. It is just too hot to have all that fabric in my lap.

And yes, I sew in my undies. Its cooler, no one can see in my window and it sure helps with fitting

We have central A/C but my sewing room is in the bedroom where the vents don't seem to work as well as the other rooms upstairs. I moved some of my sewing items down to the dining room table. Hubby is thrilled....

Three words...portable air conditioner.

Mine is a Danby, and I couldn't survive without it.

My house has central air but the upstairs tends to run hotter than the downstairs. So, if I want it to be 74 in the sewing room I'd have to set the AC for about 70...too chilly downstairs.
Also, I can't stand to be hot (it's a post-menopause thing) so if it's 78 in my sewing room I'm not hanging out in there.

A couple of years ago I bought a small $100 window air conditioner for my sewing room. It really only can cool the one room, but keeps it nice and comfy in there. The rest of the house stays hot, so DH and DS come visit me from time to time.
