Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone had made this top in a plus size lately? I looked through the reviews and there were a couple of really helpful reviews, but I just need a better idea of whether it's going to be worth my time sewing this one up for me.

I have had this pattern for a long time and have collected a few buckles to use with it. I was hoping to get it sewn up in time to enter into the Pattern Stash contest, but not if I'm not going to wear it.

Thanks in advance...

I haven't made it, but I do want to. Can we make a pact to make it this week and report back to this thread as we work on it? I have an awesome fabric for a version of it for myself!

I can certainly try. I don't know about a pact, though. That sounds really serious!

I've got a cardigan cut out, and need to make a top for my daughter. That should get done in a day, so I'll potentially have a couple of days to get the scarf top done.

Can you give me until the end of July?

First, we can treat like a treaty. World leaders break those all the time.

And for sure end of the month sounds good! I have to figure out how to make this shirt for my husband...

Any other takers for the scarf shirt sew along??? Will you sign on to the Great Jalie Treaty of 2012?

I made this top and it is fine. You need to do a little fiddling (depending on your fabric) with the scarf where it hits the CF. I found that my muslin (icky thin poly) was fine, then when I made the slightly thicker fabric it bunched up.

I've got some cotton lycra lined up for the first version as I was concerned about the cling factor. Perhaps I should change that to a more drapy ITY jersey. Goodness knows, I've got options!

Hi Kelley,
I was thinking about making this up for my Mum. She'd be petite plus size ie size 16.
When I made up this top for myself, I did a test to get the construction and fit right.
If I make it for Mum, I'll keep the neckline as is but add width to the front and back bodices. She's a DD size so I'll also add room here as well.
I was thinking of added the extra room using Threads video.

If anyone is interested, this is what the Jalie Scarf Collar top looks like on this plus-sized body:

Kelley, I really like your top. Question is, do you like it?

Oh, yes! I forgot to mention that. I really do. I'll certainly be making up more of these. It's a nice top that I'll be able to wear to work easily.
