wooly nylon for coverstitching?

Sometimes my knit pants I have some tunneling of the coverstitching. Not sure if it's my technique or if it's a machine setting. I'm wondering if Using a wooly-nylon-type thread in the cover looper would improve the look.
Also, I've been having trouble with with thicker side seams; I'm getting itty bitty stitches there. Should I be reducing the foot pressure?
I'm using a Babylock Evolution.
Any suggestions are most welcome.

I would try reducing the looper tension and see if that helps with the tunneling. You might also need to lengthen the stitches, but I don't think using woolly nylon will solve the problem. But, you can always try it.

I was told NOT to use wooly nylon in my looper for my coverstitch (Janome Coverstitch Pro 1000cpx). As soon as I removed it, my stitch was ok. When I'm having problems now with my coverstitch, I make sure the spools are lined up exactly with the needles (ie, wide vs narrow doublestitching).

I have the Coverpro 900 and anytime I have tunneling it's a stitch setting.
