2 members like this. Date: 7/14/12 7:17 PM I sewed some "funky monkey" pj bottoms for our oldest grandson. He loves them and puts them on as soon as he gets here. He says there super comfy ...
I was looking around for more fabric and he's quite the geek. I found some "Portal" fabric (a game he likes) in Kona cotton.
I've never seen Kona cotton and wondered if it will work for PJ bottoms.
Here's a look if you're interested ... from Spoonflower -- Edited on 7/14/12 7:18 PM -- ------ Mary

Date: 7/14/12 8:18 PM Oh wow, that's amazing, my bf loves Portal! Wouldn't combed cotton be similar to flannelette? That should work. Either way you should definitely make them! |

Date: 7/14/12 8:51 PM Kona cotton is a high-end quilting 100% cotton. Wash to pre-shrink before cutting. It should make very comfortable pj bottoms that will become softer and more comfortable with each washing. ------ Measure twice, cut once. |

Date: 7/14/12 8:51 PM Thanks! Now he's talking a pillow case and comforter too!
If you search that site for "geek" all kinds of neat things pop up - I saw robots, space invaders, pac man, Lego, Dr. Who, and all kinds of math goodness! ------ Mary

Date: 7/15/12 4:18 PM I made a petticoat out of Kona I bought at Hancock--it is so super-soft and cuddly, like ancient sheets at your grandma's. LOL
But... I've also seen descriptions on websites that describe it as crisp or stiff, so I'm not sure all Kona is dreamy pj material. ------ ~Gem in the prairie |

Date: 7/16/12 0:44 AM I've made shorts with Kona cotton.
It is a little stiff and crispy and it stays that way even after few washes.
It's probably not the best material for pj, but I'm sure he wouldn't care! |
