Well, the description is pretty self-explanatory. Brissie and I have been pondering the merits of the Jalie scarf top. And then she and KathySews posted about the free scarf top from HotPatterns available as a download at fabric.com. HP also a few other scarf tops available. Colette has its Jasmine. And of course there are others... Big 4, blah blah.

Is anyone else interested in joining us to sew a scarf top or 2 in the month that remains? I know most, possibly all, of my scarf tops are stash so they fit right in the pattern stash contest too.

So this is all sounds so amazing that you're belly button is dancing in delight, yes? Why Treaty, you ask? Because you should able to sign and drop if needed. Leaders don't REALLY take treaties very seriously. I mean, I have two words, Augsberg and Versailles.

Yup.

I'm all over this!

I've got the Jalie top in my sights for the Pattern Stash contest, but I've also got several others that I'm keen to sew up before the end of the year. The HP free one and the other HP scarf shirt come to mind. I've got the fabric, the patterns and the notions, I just need to clear my schedule. Perhaps I need a PA.

Yes! KathySews just posted that she's made some recently which reminded me that I had the pattern and done nothing about it.

I'm keen to see some visuals from people who've made this successfully.

Maybe we should extend it to the end of August? Then we go nuts with so many scarf tops that we could outfit the cast of Mad Men!

Another nicely drafted top/dress is BWOF 4/08 #128/128. It has a bust dart built into a slight empire seam (that you can't see b/c they take the "scarf" and turn it into a boob wrap!). The top fits nicely, and I take the scarf and cut it shorter, then knot it at CF rather then sew it into the side seams. Not a great look IYKWIM!

Oh, are you serious! What a brilliant idea! I have had that pattern on my list to sew for years! Right, that's moving up the list right now.

I think you could extend it until the end of time and I still wouldn't get them all sewn. However, I'm willing to commit to one in that time frame.

My little brother is getting married Sept 15 and I'm making the flower girl dresses, along with a dress for me, and taking the photos. I'm not sure I'll be able to fit in an entire wardrobe of scarf tops as well. However, you just never know what the future holds. I may all of a sudden leap into action, get off the computer and actually sew the things I plan! It probably won't happen, but the world is a dim place without hope!

I love your last line, and I'll have to remember it when I try to plan something that I really don't think is going to happen. "The world is a dim place without hope"...too funny!

Do you want me to move this thread to sew-a-longs or do you want to keep it on the plus size board? You might get more participation if I move it.
