CF flares out at hem

I have an issue with my tops flaring out at the CF hemline also. Could this be caused by the petite adj I make by pinching out across the front at the upper bustline? If so, should I be adding it back in elsewhere? Thanks for tips, and thanks to MNBarb for posting the sideview pict. Southpaw

If so, should I be adding it back in elsewhere? Yes. No, you should be taking it out all the way down, if you can get it over your hips. No extra fabric = no flare.

Date: 7/15/12 10:29 PM I assume you mean you took out a horizontal tuck above the bustline? Is the other thread you referenced related to this? Why didn't you just change the bust level rather than shortening the front? And yes, I agree, this probably means you need to add some extra length in the front. If the rest of the dress hangs smoothly, that should take care of it. If there are drag lines up toward the bust, then probably a full bust adjustment is needed. Yes, ma'am! Personally, I'd take it out of the side seams, to make life easier. And like the other poster said, it may turn out that a SBA may be what you need.

Date: 7/17/12 9:22 AM I make a horizontal fold usually 1/2", in the armscye area I do this because I noticed that the bottoms of armscyes always came below my bra-line on the sides, and I noticed that with sleeves in, my mobility was limited because of the low armscye. It's an easy adj for me but I've noticed that it also causes the bottom of tops to flare. For tops w/a front dart running vertical it helps if I take the dart all the way to the hemline increasing the bottom of the dart to take up fabric, but too much and it's to tight over my hips, and still flares.

But I borrowed the review from MNBarb on New Look 6598, and if you look at her side view, it's exactly what I'm referring to. Like you suggested I may need to just add a tad in the front. It's more noticeable on button down tops.
