Date: 7/19/12 1:35 PM I'm trying to use up my fabric stash (or at least get it under rein a bit more!). I have some lightweight suiting fabric, 150cm wide, 2 metres length. It is deep plum coloured with a wide woven brown stripe horizontal every 6 inches or so.
Any ideas for a pattern?
I am curvy, busty hourglass shape and normally start at 18 or 46 in patterns. Have got the last 4 years of burda magazines. I was thinking of a simple shift dress, or a dress with a drapy cowl neckline..... any ideas gratefully received! Thanks |

Date: 7/19/12 11:30 PM Wow--that sounds intriguing, and from your description I can see why it's been a challenge. Any chance of a photograph? I think it might make it easier to visualize if we can see the actual fabric.
But... how do you feel about box pleats? Wide stripes look great in a a box-pleated skirt. Something like this, maybe?

There's also a thread in the plus size forum about horizontal stripes; you might check that out for some inspiration! -- Edited on 7/19/12 11:34 PM -- ------ ~Gem in the prairie |
