Date: 7/20/12 11:40 AM ... when you scare the salespersons in the changing rooms. Salesperson : "So, how did it go ?" Me : "I take the skirt but not the button down" SP : "Oh, and what was the issue?" Me : "Mmmm ... you want the short or the long answer ?" SP (clearly bored by the lack of customers) : "The long answer!" Me : "Soooo .... The shoulder slope is not deep enough for me. I also seem to have some kind of forward shoulder issue that doesn't agree with the sleeve shape, but then it's not the shirt's fault. The back neck is gaping like mad - actually, the whole back fit is off, of course, since it has no shape to speak of - really, no back dart in a fitted button-down ? Oh, and the bust apex is approximately 1" lower than mine, which is something I have never seen before, and it looks like an FBA gone mad. And the hem is wavy and the top button is loose. Date: 7/20/12 11:45 AM Fun thread! ...when a girl with a gorgeous jacket passes me in the subway. So I run up ahead of her 1 or 2 traincar lengths and then flip around so I can see it full face. If I miss some vital details, I might do it again if there's enough train platform left. Remember, this kind of behavior can get the crip beat out of you in NY... j.

She clearly had no idea what you were talking about---but we do. Usually the bust apex is 1-2 inches higher than what we would use, so having it lower is really strange. "But the color is pretty, isn't it?" was fabulous. ------ Quilting is relaxing to me. I love to play with fabrics, patterns and colors. No matter what weird thing I'm doing, it's the guy dressed up like a Viking that always seems to get the attention... About a month ago, I backed out of a subway car after I entered to see a totally naked man. There was already a cop there, but the cop wasn't taking him off the train. Date: 7/20/12 12:42 PM When people ask me seemingly simple sewing or fitting questions and I go off on a tangent of multiple possibilities of which they won't understand. Followed by me looking at their slack-jawed, wide-eyed look and me correcting myself and saying, "Let me give you the plain, everyday English answer..." There's sewing conversation and plain everyday conversation. I always have to remember that my everyday friends engage in everyday conversation with everyday questions that need everyday answers. Sewing answers are usually not appreciated lol. ------ Big 4 Pattern size 12, RTW bottom: 6, RTW jacket 8, RTW top (no size fits me well!) Measurements: 34 HB/36 FB (34C bra)/27.5/36 (and working hard to keep it that way.) Machines: Sewing (Janome Memory Craft 3000 and Kenmore 158 Series machine), Serger (Babylock Imagine), Embroidery (Janome 300E) If you think your sewing is better than everyone else's around here, get out of my way b****.
