Suggestions? Invisible closures for vest
I think velcro is going to yank it all out of shape eventually.

Iím using Simplicity 5376

As the vest for my Stella McCartney Raincoat Ripoff

THE QUESTION
The vest calls for velco closures (as you can see in the pattern pic). But Iím making it out of buffalo plaid wool and Iím afraid the constant yanking of Velcro will pull the loose weave out of shape.

What do you suggest for an ďinvisibleĒ closure for the vest: large hooks and eyes are what Iím thinking.

Any and all suggestions, expertise and wisdom are welcome!

Hooks and eyes was what I was thinking too. Maybe even some handsewn snaps?

Reversed buttons, fly front, the aforementioned hook and eye, uh, magnets?

Hooks and eyes! I have them on a couple RTW jackets that I just love.

Remember when you sew yours on to alternate them as you go down (hook/eye/hook/eye). Don't sew all the hooks on one side and the eyes on the other like buttons and buttonholes. This will keep them from popping open as you wear it!

Everyone (anyone)...where do I buy those big hooks and eyes used for cloth/fur coats? They're wrapped with thread or something.

I have seen various decorative snap-over type hooks on pricey RTW
garments. There are Sites for a variety of fasteners not available in stores that some of you may know?
This type vest also looks good with the little crossover tabs or grommet/lacings for variation.
