Date: 7/24/12 10:12 AM Ok, I'm starting this thread because I keep stumbling over dresses that look like my patterns (or vice versa). I hope everyone will join in.
The Game is to identify garments on celebrities, in movies or on TV that you can easily knock-off with an existing pattern. We do that already but maybe a dedicated thread might inspire more people?
So, I don't have cable but I follow the posts on Project Runway @ TLo. And look at this:

This dress by Andrea Katz on the Project Runway Season 10 has a bodice that looks a lot IMO like V1102:

1 member likes this. Date: 7/24/12 5:31 PM Oh! I'll play (a little)! Last summer I saw all these tops on USA (the cable network) series that I recognized. At least two shows had blouses that looked like Colettes, and one actress was DEFINITELY wearing the top that was the big sewalong last summer (I can't find it right now; hopefully someone will remember the one I mean!). I pointed it out to DH at the time and said, "Everyone on PR is making that top!!"

Date: 7/25/12 9:23 PM *gasp* you mean she RECYCLED the look???? I'm shocked, shocked, I tell you!
LOL! In my defense, I've only watched one or two episodes of a random season during trips to the US so her name is a complete blank to me.
Ok, the gauntlet is thrown now so I have to come up with a new one. ------ Fashion Maté, where I blog about what I (eventually) sew : http://fashionmate.blogspot.com

Date: 7/26/12 9:04 AM Great idea for a thread.. very useful I think...
You know as soon as I saw your pic though.. I thought of an old Vogue pattern from the 70s.. Sometimes its an exact pattern almost repeated.. sometimes it only a part of a certain pattern.. and sometimes just the general idea. For instance in your pic.. you can imagine that dress in another print..with or without the bow.. or add a belt.. or maybe large skirt pockets.. and so on. So it should be easy for us to dupe most anything nowadays..
This should be fun.. |

Looks an awful lot like a Paco Peralta pattern from a year earlier!
