Date: 7/25/12 7:50 AM found this and thought it was special. Not sure if it's worth $400.00 though??
Here is a custom painted, completely reconditioned 1951 Singer model 301A sewing machine.
This is painted a Mary Kay pink and has new gold decals. The Singer 301A is often referred to as "the big sister of the Singer featherweight".
Forms a beautiful straight stitch, has reverse and the ability to lower the feed dogs for free hand quilting.
This is a quiet, variable speed, up to real fast, all gear driven sewing machine. No belts !!
Light weight full size with carrying handle.
Custom machine comes with foot control and wiring harness.
I have a box of attachments for an additional $25.

Thats a PRETTY steep price for that model.. Really... Even half that would be a real stretch.. They are fabulous machines.. in fact my black one is my favorite vintage.. |

Date: 7/25/12 8:42 AM It's repainted though...I'd be concerned that the price is too low. If that was a quality refinish job.

Date: 7/25/12 4:12 PM Doesn't a custom paint job with decals run about $300? I have a 301 that I'm debating spending that much on to have repainted (in a metallic emerald green). I'm hesitating because I only paid $35 for the machine. I know that I'll never recoup that cost if I were to ever resell the machine. It sounds like the seller is trying to recoup their cost, which makes it an unreasonable price for this model. It makes me wonder why someone would sell such a machine after going through the trouble and cost of a custom paint job? ------ http://seamslikeparadise.blogspot.com/ |

I was struggling with spending the bucks for it and I asked my husband about it. He hesitated and said, "I have 2 Harleys...." Nuff said.
In a year's time, will you be glad that you have it??
All the best to you! |

I'm not going to get this machine because it's too far away and a little over priced, but I love it. She's so pretty. ------ strikesmyfancy-2013.blogspot.com
