With apologies to our resident Featherweight experts, I'd like to go ahead and start a thread that I HOPE we can make a sticky. There are so many FW discussions going on in various threads and I have a hard time keeping up with them myself. It would be great to have a thread that focuses on these machines that fascinate so many of us. Just like there is a sticky topic for Singer Owners, I think there is enough interest in the 221/222 to have it's own thread.

It would be great if some of the experts like LynnRowe would contribute their resources here and be available to answer questions.

What do ya'll think?

What a terrific idea, lisalu! So many of us on PR are intrigued by these incredibly cute but impressively capable, vintage machines. I bought my Featherweight just a few weeks ago, and it seems there are quite a few other new owners, too. And of course, there are many enthusiastic FW owners who've owned their machines for far longer, including PR's FW expert -- LynnRowe.

Good idea. but a lot of us were hoping for a vintage machine forum in itself.. If one is going to talk FWs. then you would also maybe want to include my fav.. the 30l..
We do have one machine finds forum.. hmmm..

But to start you might want to link all the FW threads to this thread..

I am sure Lynn can post some wonderful advise and pics too..

@Sewingsilly...

Our machines could be twins!

And yes, a vintage machine thread would work too - I love 'em all! Just seems that the FW in particular has so much interest and the information gets lost among so many other threads.

Is your manual the same as mine?? I noticed that someone else posted a pic of their "blue manual" and it was a little different than mine.

Her's said "model" before the big number's 221. Not a big difference, just wondering??

Yes, exact same manual!

Kooky, huh? I feel like I'm looking at my own machine!

(PS...I recently started a blog and you can see a picture of Kathy there. Running Stitches )

I think it would be a good idea to separate PR's large and active Sewing Machine section in two. One section could be established for "Modern Sewing Machines" and the other specifically for "Vintage Sewing Machines." A "Featherweight" thread could one of the sticky threads in the Vintage section. The "Machine Finds" thread could be another sticky thread in the Vintage section.
