I'm working on Butterick 5640 View A. I'm going to do a one inch FBA on the bodice. My question is: When the bodice is on a bias like this, does this grain line make a difference when cutting the FBA lines? Do I just pretend it's straight and work as though the center front line is the "grainline" when cutting drawing and cutting the FBA lines. When cutting out the garment, I would, use the bias grainline. Hope this makes sense Also, since this has an attached sleeve, I'm planning to cut it off before the FBA is done, then reattach it. Thanks so much for any insight you can give me.
I've been trying to post a picture of this piece, but I can't seem to make it happen.
It's still done the same way. Make sure that your sas are larger as bias will shrink them and mark your seam lines so that you are not using your cut edge to pin the garment together because it will be changing.
